You can make secure online payments by credit card, debit card or bank account through Paypal.   Paypal provides a safe, quick and easy means to buy securely online. No account is necessary to pay by credit card, debit or bank account although you can easily sign up for an account with Paypal.  It is absolutely free.  You can visit their website at www.paypal.com.   I also accept postal money orders and personal checks.  If you are paying by personal check there is a 12 day wait for check to clear the bank before merchandise is shipped.  Payment is expected in 5 to 7 days if paying by money order or personal check.   If payment is not recieved in 10 days the item will be returned to inventory and and made available for sale.   I ship by Fed Ex, DHL and USPS depending on size and cost to my customers.  We highly reccomend insurance.   We take great care when packing our items using new supplies such as bubble wrap, or other necessary packing supplies and want it to arrive safely to you so you can enjoy your purchase.  However, we cannot be held responsible for items that are lost or damaged in transit.   I do require insurance on furniture and delicate items at my discretion..  This is for your protection.  If an item is damaged during transit we will file the claim for you if it was shipped via Fed Ex or DHL.  If it is damaged through USPS we will send the proper paperwork so you can file.  It is important that you keep the item in the original box and packing so if a claim is filed the shipping company can  pick up the item and inspect it.   Any claims will be paid after all channels  have been gone through and can take up to 3 to 6 weeks.  The shipping company pays the claim - not Shabby Cottage Designs.  Shipping is extra on all items unless otherwise stated in item description.     International buyers please email me for cost of shipping before ordering.    We want you to be happy with your purchase, however, due to the nature of our vintage items we do not accept returns unless the item has been grossly misrepresented.  We do not accept returns on custom work.  THE FURNITURE WE HAVE LISTED IS EITHER VINTAGE OR ANTIQUE AND THEREFORE IS NOT PERFECT.  WE LIST ANY MAJOR FLAWS.  WE STRIVE TO MAKE AVAILABLE ONLY THE BEST QUALITY WE CAN FIND.  NORMAL INPERFECTIONS SHOULD BE EXPECTED WHICH ARE IN KEEPING WITH THE SHABBY AND CHIC COTTAGE LOOK.   IF A FURNITURE ITEM IS DAMAGED DURING THE SHIPPING PROCESS IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBLILITY TO FILE THE APPROPRIATE CLAIM.  WE DO NOT GIVE REFUNDS ON DAMAGED ITEMS.  ONCE IT IS SHIPPED IT IS OUT OF OUR HANDS.      Custom work is available by request.  Email me anytime with a request or idea you may have in mind.  I am happy to work with you.  We appreciate each and every coustomer and look forward to meeting you.  Thanks for visting my website.  Please come back soon!!!!   Suzanne
